Feeding ecology of green turtles (Chelonia mydas) nesting on the Eastern Mediterranean Nesting Beaches.
TÜBİTAK 118Y431 2019 -2022
The Eastern Mediterranean beaches are the most intense nesting beaches for green turtles. Green turtles use the Eastern Mediterranean not only for nesting habitats but also they use the marine habitats as a feeding ground. There are limited studies on the marine habitats of sea turtles and this species spent more than 90% of their lives in marine habitat. As a marine habitat, the Eastern Mediterranean is also an important foraging area for sea turtle and this project aims to reveal possible feeding habits and habitats of this highly important marine reptiles.

A study on the determination of the trophic position of the sea turtles on the food web in Gökçeada coasts. TUBITAK 2209 2016-2017
In that project, the trophic position of sea turtle stranded around Gökçeada coasts was investigated by stable isotope analysis. The possible food items were collected in the coastal area and the food web was diagramed by biplot graph of stable carbon and nitrogen isotope ratios.

Temporal monitoring of Chelonia mydas and Caretta caretta behaviours during nesting intervals on Samandağ Coast, Turkey. COMÜ-BAP. 2010/258. 2010-2012.
Samandag is one of the most important green turtle nesting areas out of three notable beaches in Turkey. The monitoring studies performed over the decade were limited to daily monitoring of nesting of this species and marking could not have been performed. Effective management plans can be provided after a careful investigation on the beach use of green turtle and loggerhead turtle species and their nesting successes. There wasn’t any knowledge about the common characters of the nest built by the same females in Samandag. The nesting frequency and inter nesting duration were defined and the common characteristics of clutches and hatchlings were compared.
